Anthropic Claude Corps
Anthropic
A $150M fellowship placing early-career workers inside US nonprofits to help them use AI, with host nonprofits receiving a $10,000 grant and free Claude credits. The first cohort has closed; further cohorts are expected in January and August 2027.
Who it's really for. US 501(c)(3) nonprofits that want AI capacity but cannot hire for it, and early-career people who want a year doing applied AI work inside a mission-driven organization. Host organizations do not need existing AI expertise; the point of the fellow is to bring it. Because the program funds both sides, it is worth reading as two opportunities: a talent placement for the nonprofit and a paid fellowship for the individual.
What you get. Hosts receive a placed fellow, a $10,000 grant toward hosting costs, and free Claude credits for the organization. Fellows receive a paid placement and a cohort of peers doing similar work at other nonprofits. The program is drawn from a $150M commitment, so expect multiple cohorts rather than a one-off.
How to apply and what to watch. Applications are open now for cohorts expected in January and August 2027. Nonprofits should have a concrete use case in mind (a workflow, a dataset, a service) rather than a general desire to "do AI"; that is what makes a placement productive in twelve months. Non-US organizations are not eligible for this program; see Claude for Nonprofits for the global discount and training track instead.
