Cities Deliver: AI Solutions for Public Services
The Rockefeller Foundation & OpenAI Foundation (managed by RF Catalytic Capital)
A $50M global open call funding nonprofits and civil society organizations that work alongside city governments to apply frontier AI to public services: public health, economic mobility, environmental resilience and civic engagement. Every project needs a committed city government partner and a meaningful frontier AI component. Applicants can use any AI model or product; there is no requirement or preference for OpenAI technology. Projects related to voting or elections are excluded.
Worth knowing: the city partnership is the real gating factor, so line up the city commitment before writing. Grants run 24 months, paid 50% up front and 50% on a documented mid-term milestone. Questions on the call are due Oct 31, 2026, with revised FAQs posted Nov 4. The initial application is short; shortlisted applicants are invited to a second stage.
